Jechiel Perelmuter (1903-1992) – was born in Krasnystaw, in Krakowskie Przedmieście. After World War I, the Perelmuter family settled in Poniatowskiego Street, behind the “meat butcher’s shops”. In 1925, Jechiel Perelmuter moved to Palestine and became one of the greatest Israeli poets. He wrote a number of poems concerning Krasnystaw.
