Saul Kaatz (born on January 5, 1870 in Swarzędz; died in 1942 r. ?) – he was born in an Orthodox Jewish family in Swarzędz near Poznań. He graduated from the Jewish Theological Seminary in Berlin, receiving a PhD degree.
In 1887, he married Elsa Wiener.
In 1895, he became the chief rabbi in Zabrze, and additionally in 1900-1907 he taught Judaism in a Middle School for Boys in Zabrze. He was one of the first Judaism teachers in Prussian schools. His great innovation was introducing elements of the Jewish nation history to the Biblical history.
