Police is a small town, located about 15 km north of Szczecin (German: Stettin). Starting from the 1830s, it was inhabited by a few Jewish families, which were numerous enough to form a small municipality. The largest number of Jews i.e. 60, inhabited Police in the 1850s and 1860s.
