W 1893 r. założono fundację zmarłej w tym roku Marii Gewurtzowej, ustanowioną na mocy jej testamentu z 14 kwietnia 1891 roku. Fundacja wspierała ubogich Żydów oraz lokalne bractwo pogrzebowe Chewra Kadisza. Majątek fundacji wynosił 2690 koron, a odsetki – 104 korony rocznie. Rabin dębicki, który dysponował tym funduszem, wyznaczał osoby, które otrzymywały jałmużnę, a w rocznicę śmierci fundatorki odprawiano nabożeństwo. Nadzór nad fundacją sprawował Wydział Krajowy Sejmu galicyjskiego[1.1].
