Alicja Kobus was born in Damasławek. After studying at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, she worked as a teacher. In 1999, she became the chairwoman of the Poznań branch of the Association of Jewish Religious Communities in the Republic of Poland, currently the Jewish Religious Community in Poznań. She is a member of the management board of the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage and vice-chairman of the Association of Jewish Religious Communities in the Republic of Poland. She has been a councilor in Murowana Goślina since 2006. For her social activities she received the European Citizens' Award and the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
