According to "The Encyclopedia of Jewish life before and during the Holocaust", 240 Jews lived in Babiak in 1857, most of them inovled in agriculture. In 1940 local Jews were deported by Nazi to Bugaj and then transfered to the death camp in Chełmno am Ner.
