The enterprise under the name “Rafineria Wierbiąż ad Kołomyja, Fabryka Przetworów Olejów Skalnych” was founded in 1921. The Management Board was located in Stanislaviv at 9 Szopena Street, and the works in Wierbiąż (Verbij) near Kołomyja (Kolomyia). In 1937 the Director was Dr Karol Halpern and the share capital amounted to 120 thousand zlotys. The works in Wierbiąż were at the time leased to “Benagaz” company from Stanislaviv (currently Ivano-Frankivsk).
