A website devoted to the building at 7 Planty St. in Kielce, which was the site of the 1946 Kielce Pogrom, has been online for a few days.

The www.dom-kielce-planty7.pl website is a new educational portal founded by the Jan Karski Society. It offers not only information about the building itself and the course of the pogrom, but also about the Jewish community of Kielce. The portal also presents stories about selected Kielce inhabitants, including Hanka Goldszajd, Lola Fajnszat and Mania Feferman.

Also worth noting are articles devoted to the problem of today’s perception of the pogrom by Kielce inhabitants and the steps made in recent years to break the taboo that has existed for decades.

“We can’t change the past but we can give it a new sense by what we’re doing today,” says Bogdan Białek of the Jan Karski Society.

The launch of the portal was possible thanks to the funding by the Museum of Polish History.
