Pierwsza synagoga drewniana w Kałuszynie istniała w latach 1768–1783. Gdy uległa zniszczeniu, po 1787 r., w okolicy Starego Rynku wybudowano kolejną synagogę drewnianą. Także ten budynek został zniszczony przez ogień, w pożarze miasta 15 sierpnia 1902 roku.
