In 1926 on Szaja Złotnik’s initiative a local branch of the “Histradrut Mizrachi” party (the Spiritual Centre) was set up, which associated the orthodox Zionists. However, this party, which had, according to 1929 data, merely 30 active members, played only a marginal role in the political life of the Jewish community.
