Alter Yitzchak Meir (1789–1866), Talmudist and Kabbalist, one of the Hasidic leaders in Poland. From 1859, the tzaddik in Góra Kalwaria, the founder of the Hasidic dynasty; from among the Hasidic leaders in the Polish territories, he gained the greatest authority and notability. Author of numerous halakhic and ritual works, including comments to the Talmud (vol. 1–5 1860–1870).
