Dr. Adam Asnes (died May 20, 1962) was the head of the cultural section of the Szczecin branch of the Central Committee of Polish Jews.

Between 1930 and 1934, Asnes studied philosophy at the University of Paris-Sorbonne and was interested in culture and the fine arts. He came to Szczecin, where he wrote reviews of concerts and articles about the local cultural life, in 1949. What is more, Asnes delivered papers for the Jewish auditions in the Szczecin branch of the Polish Radio [refr:|Szczęsny M., Żydzi w kulturze muzycznej Szczecina, [w:] Żydzi oraz ich sąsiedzi na Pomorzu Zachodnim w XIX i XX wieku, red. He died in the year 1962. In the same year, the Jewish cemetery on the Ojca Beyzyma Street was closed by the authorities; however, Asnes’s wife didn’t agree to bury her husband in the municipal cemetery. Asnes was buried in the Jewish cemetery without consent; it was the last burial that took place there.
