Pierwsze informacje o Żydach w Kobieli pochodzą z XVIII wieku. Niezależna gmina żydowska powstała w 1853 roku. Społeczność żydowska Kołbieli rozwijała się dynamicznie. W 1921 roku stanowiła ok. 65% ogółu mieszkańców. W miejscowości znajdowała się drewniana synagoga i cmentarz. W utworzonym w 1941 roku getcie zamieszkiwało ok. 1000 osób. Likwidacja getta miała miejsce we wrześniu 1942 roku - mieszkańców wywieziono do obozu zagłady w Treblince.
