The new Jewish cemetery in Prudnik (40 Kolejowa Street) was established in 1861[1.1]. It survived the Second World War undamaged. In the following years numerous acts of vandalism and theft of matzevot occurred.

On an area of 0.2 ha around 140 matzevot remained, with German and Hebrew epitaphs. The Fränkel Family vault is of particular interest. The cemetery is enclosed, with the original decorated fence preserved at the front.

An obelisk is located on the territory of the cemetery, marking the grave of Jewish Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp prisoners murdered by the Nazis in Prudnik in 1945.

A pre-burial house is located at the cemetery. The mortuary was taken over in 1985/86 from the town authorities by the Pentecostal Church. The members of the local congregation paved the cemetery entrance and in 1989 added a new gate, matching the looks of the original fence. The mortuary was restored and adopted for a Pentecostal chapel in 1990. Mr. Radosław Brylak, who lives in the building, takes care of the cemetery without payment.

In 2007 Mr. Łukasz Wylęgała started cataloguing the cemetery. He compiled a list of the buried:
